About Us

APE has a long history in the supply of piling equipment for hire.  APE, is unique in that it has always focused on small piling plant, ideally suited for installing trench sheeting and more recently plastic piling.  Naturally, we have played a pivotal role in the supply of equipment to the waterways and groundwork contractors.

APE has gain a solid reputation for helping customer install a wide variety of sheet piles, through the adaptation of plant, and where necessary through the design and build of new piling products, such as the APE mini hammers, that were originally designed for British Waterways.

Over the past eight years, we have taken research and development much more seriously, and on average have spent 25% of our annual turnover on developing new products.  Through this period APE have gratefully benefited from SMART, Montage, Pristine, Mustard, and Rover funding.  The new developments are discussed in more detail on this website, but focus primarily on excavator attachments and improving the installation means for plastic piling.  

To complete the product range, APE is very pleased to now be in a position to sell plastic piling, and we represent two producers in the UK, with novel innovative new pile designs.   APE are also seeking to expand this range further, with a few other pile designs, and are concentrating our efforts on producing a budget composite pile technology.   To ensure the longevity of our piles once driven, APE have sourced the world renown, Blue Marlin drain filter, and are now UK Distributors for this very useful, and in many case essential product.

The past five years have been a very exciting and creative time at APE, and the next five years look to be more so.  Did you know that APE now has the widest range of plastic sheet piling in the UK, with full support from all suppliers including Bob Lee of Lee Composites- the pioneer of composite piling in the USA.  Nothing but the best for our customers!
