APE Mini Hammers

The APE Mini hammers are available in two sizes, the APE No.1 weighing in at 90 Kgs, and the new APE No.2, which weighs 270 Kgs.  For those familiar with the BSP No.200, in comparison this hammer would exist between the two sizes of APE hammer.

These hammers were the first products to be produced by APE.  At the request of our waterways customers, small air hammers were needed, the smaller BSP No.300 and more reliable than the BSP No.200.

When produced, these hammers were only ever intended to be hire fleet items, and this is reflected in their construction.  The APE Mini Hammer bodies are machined from Swedish Tool Steel, so is the ram and valve chest assembly.  The anvils are EN9 Normalised and so hard wearing yet economic to replace.  The result, as intended, is a hard working unit, with exceptional durability.  APE primarily makes its money from hiring plant, and plant that breaks down costs money, so it was in our own interests to spend a little more producing these exceptionally reliable hammers.

APE Mini Hammers also include a clamping guide system, this acts against impact recoil, improving the efficiency of installation.  The wide construction of the leg guide arrangement enables a fully universal compatibility with all sheet piles, trench sheets, plastic piling, timber piles and tubes.

In comparison to posts drivers, our Mini Hammers are somewhat heavier, when compared to similar powered units.  This is due to the heavier construction, including the leg guides and anvil block.  The anvil blocks, lacking in other post driving products, are essential when driving sheet piles, as the anvil spreads the impact force reducing damage to the pile tops.

In common with all the other hire fleet hammers, these units do not incorporate a profiled cap beneath the anvil.  It has been our experience that when caps are used, damage can still occur.  The only difference is that now is that the hammer would be trapped on to the sheet pile!

If however, you still wish to have a profiled cap, then these can be quoted separately.  Note that for each type of sheet pile you install, you would need a bespoke cap.

The APE Mini hammers are available for hire and sale, so you can now truly benefit from the long life of these products.
