This range consists of three products:
The Eco Z

A traditional budget product used either in a Z rib format (all the same way) or a box rib format (alternated). This product clearly providing aa choice between maximum coverage or maximum strength.

The Europile

The Europile marks an improvement over the EcoZ, in that it provides the strength of the box rib, with the coverage of the Z rib. As a result it is an easier product to install with other benefits such as a flatter frontage to ensure better contact with the wale for more efficient load transfer. Clearly this profile provide a shallower appearance than the box rib and as such it is less intrusive than the box rib EcoZ within the piled area.
The interlock design is also more advanced, and points perpendicular to the piled wall, and so more strongly resists pile pull out, whilst providing a more water tight solution.
The design is based primarily on a double U shaped pile. This increases the surface area for impact driving, and provides a better balance section. The greatest advantage when compared to domestically produced products is the increased strength of the interlock. The interlock also faces away from the line of piles rather than in-line, this increases the watertightness of the interlock, and further reduces the chance of the pile unzipping, as can happen with the cheaper variants.
In terms of product strength, this is a relatively lightweight profile with a bending moment just over half that of the British Standard L8 or Mabey M7. That stated in comparison to common UK plastic piling it is as strong as the HL Standard pile in box, whilst still covering a linear distance of 300mm. When using Z piles in a box configuration, whilst the sheet is still 300mm, its effective width in use is only 270mm, and so over a moderately long distance more piles are needed, then would be the case for APE's Europile
The Ultra Z

The Ultra Z is one of the strongest pile sections available in PVC, providing twice the strength of the popular L8 trench sheet.

For the past 15 years APE have worked alongside all the UK producers of plastic piling, including the original Bankmaster pile. However, whilst the advantages of plastic piling were very clear to APE and its customers, it was appreciated that the lack of development in the UK, was holding back growth. As a result, APE spent a number of years, trying to locate improved products, that were thicker, had stronger interlocks, and was better designed to be driven.
By concentrating our efforts on locating from Europe, the Carbon footprint and environmental costs of transportation are reduced, than APE had sourced from the USA.
The search was well worth the effort and APE are extremely pleased to have sourced for you, the EcoZ, the Europile and Ultra Z. These high quality products ares produced in Poland, by the leading producer of plastic sheet piling, S.i.a. Pietrucha. With nearly 50 years of experience in the plastic industry, S.i.a. Pietrucha are long enduring market leaders.
Plastic piling is an extremely versatile product and has found uses in a wide range of applications, many of which had not previously used sheet piles of any material.

The piles are made from recycled rigid polyvinyl chloride, which is modified by chemical agent making the processing easier, modifiers of the impact resistance, thermal stabilizers and UV and mineral filters.
Plastic piling is produced by the method of co-extrusion with the core composed from the material obtained from recycling of constructional PVC, which is covered by a layer of primary material. They are as standard produced in olive and according to colours ordered by customers. This plastic piling has smooth surfaces, with equal colouring, so they are visually attractive once installed.
