Piling Equipment Introduction

APE has a solid reputation for producing, and adapting air power impact hammers.  We offer the most comprehensive range from the small APE No.1 hammer, through to the BSP 700N.   Despite high noise levels, Air hammers have many advantages over other pile driving equipment.

Vibrators do have their place, and at APE, we are pleased to have as part of our range, the Dawson excavator mounted high frequency vibrators, the EMV70 and EMV300.

To complement our range of impact hammers, APE still has available a wide range of air powered impact extractor.  This utilise a friction grip, as opposed to a clamp, but apply a powerful upward impact force.  The main area where these products win out is in circumstances where ground vibration levels need to be minimised.  The single direction impact force, produced perceivably much lower levels of ground vibration, with a reduced risk of ground settlement.

The importance of choice of equipment

Due to the noise levels, it is highly likely that a vibrator will be the first recommendation, and we freely admit that these products are not unique to APE.

Despite this, it is still vitally important that there are a number of options available for a specific site.  Other health and safety concerns must not be overlooked, for instance using a vibrator in non-ideal conditions, will increase the wear on critical components, such as the clamp or suppressor head.  In the event these are overloaded, the vibrator can break apart.

If sites concern is nuisance, then using vibrators in non-ideal circumstances will extend the duration of piling, thereby increasing the overall nuisance of the site.

APE’s ability to provide a range of products, gives our customers the choice of alternate solutions.  A choice lacking from any of our competitors, enabling you to get the right piece of equipment, not just a choice in paint colour!
